The potential fallout for politicians would be swallowing a career poison pill.
This scheme enjoys the protective shield of many unwitting. 100s if not 1,000's would pay a heavy penalty for
buying ill-gotten tax credits. Many taken in by the vague and misleading qualifying
letter issued by the Oklahoma Tax Commission, that will be left holding worthless tax credits
when the scheme is finally exposed. The mere hint of an investigation will create anxiety in so many. Not only
the threat of being left holding fraudulent tax credits, but responsible for back taxes. No different than holding
stolen property. These victims include some if not all the following.
-
- The state's most
wealthy and influential.
- The state's largest donors.
- The state's top officials.
- Friends, associates and family members of the state's top officials.
- Highly respected figures and members of the socially elite.
It is not only the financial loses, but the public embossment and social stigma among peers that would cause
many of these to be upset about exposure.

It is these very situations where politicians attempt to justify turning their backs and doing nothing.
Reasoning the greater cause of not punishing a few 1,000's of the states most important and influential people
for an unwitting mistake. This is a total disregard for the general public that has and will suffer while
the fraud continues unabated.
