People whose identities are protected by Oklahoma officials are reaping $100s million in unearned profits using a tax credit incentive program created by Oklahoma lawmakers. A law mandating all information about the program be hidden, preventing the public from learning how much the program cost, where the money is going, how the money is used, and the identities of those involved. The program operates like a free company self-serve coke machine, void of state oversight or accountability. The entire program is kept hidden from the public and, interestingly, the very state lawmakers who created the law. Thus freeing state lawmakers and officials to participate without the risk of the public learning of their involvement and avoiding any acts that could be viewed as a conflict of interest. To further protect those enriching themselves at public expense the law prohibits the state from recovering money taken by any later found guilty of violating a law in taking the money. Stealing! The worst possible penalty - they will not be allowed to participate again. Wow, take that you scum?
Unearned profits are realized because the program authorizes "so called investors" to automatically take $2 in tax credits for every $1 they claim "they plan" to invest. Then sell the tax credits providing enough money to fund each investor's entire investment cost plus reward each investor a 100% profit. This can all be accomplished before the investor need invest or risk one dime. The details of how the scheme operates, has been discussed before and can be found at http://prowlingowl.com.
In summary any state officials is free to take advantage of any good investment opportunity they hear about. This one that taps taxpayers to pay the investors cost and an immediate 100% profit would be pretty attractive. One can only imagine what criteria are used to select who is extended such a lucrative opportunity.
Where does that leave the public? The solution is actually quite simply for honest lawmakers. Step 1, full disclosure. But, let's not be naïve. If we do have a few lawmakers with honesty and integrity as claimed, it remains as "useless as teats on boar" (teats are safer) as long as they play the go-along-to-get-along game. I would encourage all to join myself in lobbying federal authorities to investigate. All information I have collected, including some revealing information I lack access to verify before posting online, has been supplied to the FBI, Department of Justice, Federal Reserve Board (keeps an eye on financial transactions), and others. We still need help raising awareness and encouraging others to squeak the wheel.
