Owl: At the time of this article, March 28, 2007, there was only one lone voice that Oklahoma officials thought they had to discredit. Since this story has been given more credibility by other reputable publications, in the US and Europe. And, Nanjing's MG has not officially denied the reports. This article addresses the first hint of the revelation that Oklahoma supporters of this project had grossly misrepresented the level of commitments by the Nanjing's MG. Apparently with out nothing more than a few general comments about considering the idea, Oklahoma supporters took the initiative to convince lawmakers to approve $20 million to go toward this project.

This begs for an investigation as to how this happened, as well as very close scrutiny of what is happening to the $20 million. Who is getting the contract.

British media reported last year that a Nanjing executive said plans to build in Oklahoma were merely an idea. Duke Hale, the former head of MG Cars North America, later told a reporter that the executives, unfamiliar with English and Western ways, may not have understood the question.[Ref A112]

Was this gross irresponsibility in failing to verify, and off hand comment? Or, was it simply another opportunity to setup another scam?

Based on this knee-jerk reaction Oklahoma Lawmakers approved $20 million to go toward this project. $15 million went toward Ardmore Airpark is getting a $35 million runway expansion. History tells us this $20 million is going to wind up in the wrong people's pockets. [Ref A113]
